Refund policy

At The Story Co.by Janessa & Matias, we are committed to providing high-quality apparel that not only looks great but also carries deep meaning. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we are happy to help with returns and exchanges under the conditions outlined below.

Returns

We accept returns for store credit or exchange within 30 days of the delivery date. To be eligible for a return:

  • The item must be unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition.
  • Returns must be initiated within 30 days of receiving your order.
  • Any item that appears used, altered, or damaged after delivery will not be eligible for return.

We do not offer refunds to the original payment method at this time. Instead, we provide store credit that can be used for future purchases.

Exchanges

If you need a different size or color, we offer free exchanges within 30 days of receiving your order. The exchange process works as follows:

  1. Contact us at support@thestoryco.us with your order number and exchange request.
  2. Ship the item back to us (customer is responsible for return shipping costs).
  3. Once we receive and inspect the item, we will send out the replacement.

Defective or Incorrect Items

If you receive a defective or incorrect item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the issue. We will cover the return shipping costs and send a replacement at no additional charge.

Non-Returnable Items

Certain items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:

  • Gift cards

How to Start a Return or Exchange

To initiate a return or exchange, please email us at support@thestoryco.us with:

  • Your order number
  • A brief reason for the return/exchange
  • Photos if the item is defective

Once approved, we will provide instructions on where to send your item.

Additional Notes

  • The Story Co. by Janessa & Matias is not responsible for lost or stolen return shipments. We recommend using a trackable shipping method.
  • Store credit never expires and can be used toward any future purchase.
