THE STORY:

"One of the times I felt the most lonely was when one of my close friends died in a freak accident back in middle school. The moment I found out, the hours after, and honestly, the years it took me to process that pain—I felt so alone, words can’t even explain. Every time I truly needed someone, no one was there. In the moments when I was the most vulnerable, it seemed like God made sure there wasn’t a single person around.

Back then, I was so mad at Him for that. I couldn’t understand why He would let me face such heartbreak by myself. It hurt me so deeply. But what I didn’t realize—what took me years to figure out—was that God wasn’t leaving me alone. He was trying to get me to lean on Him. Every single time I was all alone, He was there. I just couldn’t see it because I was so focused on my pain and anger. I wanted physical comfort from a friend or family member, and when I didn’t get that, I refused to accept the comfort He was offering me.

People can’t always be there for us the way we need them to be. They’re human; they’ll let us down sometimes. But God won’t. He never will. There may be times when it feels like no one is showing up for you—but just know, God does. He always shows up. He is always there, and there’s never a moment when you’re actually alone. He knows you, He understands you, and He created you in His image. There is nothing about your pain or your story that He doesn’t understand.

I want to encourage you: the next time you feel lonely, when you’re going through depression or anxiety, or when you’re grieving the loss of someone who meant a lot to you—pause. Be reminded that you are not alone. God is right there with you, even if you don’t feel Him. Let Him help you. He will get you through it.

'The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.' (Deuteronomy 31:8).

If this resonates with you, if you’re in a place where you feel unseen or abandoned, I challenge you to take a step today: talk to Him. Ask Him to show you His presence, even in your pain. Let Him carry you. And if you know someone who feels alone, share this message with them. You never know who might need to hear that God is always there."
